Extra Packing Tips
When you are packing your Holiday Decorations – the trick is to take them down in reverse – so the items you put up last should be the items you pack first!
The best time to organize and de-clutter your home, are those cold winter nights. Organize and pack into boxes and label, then transfer to your unit on your way home from work.
Storage provides that additional convenience of items rotation. As the seasons change, so do the items you need at home. Let us provide the unit you need to make this switch easy and organized for your tools, clothes, decorations and toys!
More Helpful Hints
Remember to pack glass and breakables in strong boxes, and it is a good idea to wrap them individually and use tape to remind you that the item is breakable.
Using cotton items such as towels, sheets, blankets, comforters, rugs, etc to pack with or cover items such as furniture is a good thing. This allows the items to breathe and not trap in moisture, as plastic wrap would do, AND it will help keep the dust off furniture items.When storing desks, dressers, entertainment centers, etc. – utilize the drawers and shelf space for your breakable items and parts to furniture you have broken down for easy storage. Make sure to label what goes where!
Store all pictures, mirrors, glass and your mattresses on their sides, upright – Not flat on the floor.
Try to plan your storage space. Put frequently used items towards the front and try to allow for walk ways to get to the back of your unit.
To be really organized, try to label all boxes and keep a list of what is in each box. Tape it to the wall of your unit for easy access.
Remember that insurance for the items you store is your responsibility. If you have Renter’s or Homeowner’s Insurance, call your agent, to see if you are already covered – if not, please see the office for a brochure on Storage Insurance.
It is a good idea to keep a small space between your items and the unit walls.
Packing heavy items and books should always be in smaller boxes, and remember to stack the heavier boxes on bottom and the lighter ones on top.
If you do not want your items directly on unit floor – use a wooden pallet to elevate items and you can always throw a rug down for extra protection for your items.
For appliances, store them clean with the doors slightly ajar to avoid mildew. For washing machines, put a towel around the inner tub to hold into place and remember to empty your vacuum bag from vacuum before storing to alleviate a musty smell in your unit.
Put all your garden tools in empty garbage cans for safety and ease.
Remember to empty the gas from Lawn mowers, weed wackers, blowers, etc. before storing.
DO NOT STORE ANY EXPLOSIVE, HAZARDOUS, FLAMMABLE, COMBUSTABLE, ILLEGAL MATERIALS OR PERISHABLES – EVER!!

Q. How do I figure out how large of a space I need?
A. Please check out our Space Calculator Charts.
Q. What’s the best way to pack up boxes and containers to place into storage?
A. Fill containers to capacity. Partially full or bulging cartons may tip or collapse. Heavy items like books or tools should be packed in small boxes so they are easy to lift. Protect your fragile goods with packing (ie: bubble wrap, newspaper, etc.) and place them near the top of your storage space.
Label boxes. Take home a list of your labeled boxes for easy reference when you need to locate your goods.
Q. Is there any particular way to arrange my things in my storage space?
A. Pack the storage space carefully. Leave air space around the perimeter to aid ventilation. Place a pallet on concrete floors and do not lean items against walls. Leave a walkway to the rear of your space for easy access. Use all the space available, including the height, and place frequently used goods near the door.
Q. What items shouldn’t be placed into storage?
A. Do not store food or other perishable items which could decay or attract insects or rodents. Also, do not store flammable or toxic items in your unit. No paints or solvents.
Q. Can I store appliances in my storage unit?
A. A refrigerator or freezer should be thoroughly dry and stored with its door slightly ajar. Some items may be stored inside large appliances and boxes can be stacked on top of stoves, refrigerators and freezers. Make sure that stove and cooking equipment are cleaned before they are stored.
Q. What other things should I be aware of when storing and utilizing my storage space?
A. Here are a few tips:
• It is good to use old sheets, towels, rugs, blankets, etc. that are made with cotton to pack with, as it allows the items to breathe and not trap moisture. It is also good to throw a sheet over anything that is not packed such as furniture items, to avoid dust accumulation.
• Bicycles and Other Metal Items: To retard rust, wipe all metal surfaces with a rag containing a few drops of machine oil.
• Books and Documents: Pack books flat to protect their spines. Do not place boxes directly on concrete floors, but use pallets or skids to prevent moisture. Use packing to fill out empty pockets in the boxes. Do not pack fragile items in the same box with books and do not overload.
• As you are leaving your unit, make sure your lock has been properly closed. Keep your key or combination in a safe place.
Q. When is my rent due?
A. Your rent is due on the FIRST of each month. You are considered late on the second day. The first late fee will assess on the 10th of the month. Then the second fee will assess on the 18th of the month, with another month of rent and 3rd fee after that, if account is still past due.
Q. How do I vacate the unit?
A. A 10-day notice in WRITING is required to vacate. This must be given by the 20th of the month to not incur further charges for rent. You then must make sure that you have removed ALL items from your unit, leaving it CLEAN and EMPTY and REMOVE YOUR LOCK, by the end of your vacate date. If lock is still on unit, you are responsible for additional rent.
Q. What is the minimum rental period?
A. We require a minimum of one month. New rentals that begin on the 1st – 15th of the month will be pro-rated for the current month plus a one-time Admin. Fee of $15.00. New rentals that begin on the 16th – 31st will pay the pro-rate of the current month, the next month rent and the one-time Admin. Fee of $15.00. We do not pro-rate you out to vacate.
Q. How do I get invoiced and do you have auto pay?
A. We are happy to set your account to receive an invoice by email on the 20th of each month, or for a $2.00 charge per month, you may receive an invoice by mail. You are welcome to complete the Auto Pay Form, with a credit/debit card, and we will charge that card automatically on the date you choose per month, or you may call the office to charge that same card per month as a NON auto pay. Remember, monthly rent is due on the FIRST.
Q. Do you have units with shelves?
A. No – you are welcome to use FREE standing shelving in your unit. You are NOT allowed to attach any type of shelving or hooks to the walls, ceiling or floor of the unit.
Q. May I store my Boat or RV or Vehicle?
A. Yes – you have the option of indoor or outdoor spaces for your item. Please stop by the office to determine the size needed and availability.
Q. What are the Security features?
A. We have 24/7 Digital Video Surveillance throughout the property, Alarms on the units doors, Gate code is necessary to enter and exit, property completely enclosed and gated, with good lighting at night. A manager team that routinely checks property daily, and after close of gate access nightly.
Q. What are the office hours and the gate hours?

Monday – Friday – 8am – 4:30pm
Saturday – 8am – 3pm
Sunday – CLOSED
Access Hours are EVERYDAY – 6am – 10pm

Our leases are month to month with a one-time administration fee of $15.00.
We are proud of our clean and secure property, and you will find we also have video surveillance throughout, each door alarmed, all units are on the ground level with most units drive up access, and gate code to enter and exit.
We have assorted sizes of boxes and moving supplies for your needs.
Our office hours are, Monday-Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Saturday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm and the office is closed on Sundays.
Access to your unit is EVERYDAY 6:00 am - 10:00 pm - Holidays and Weekends included.
